Tjet or Tyet is a famous ancient Egyptian symbol known as the Knot of Isis or the Blood of Isis. It is very similar to the Ankh in shape but with arms bent downwards.
The Tyet was a funerary amulet made of red stone or glass; it was thought to bind magic as well; it was mentioned in the book of the Dead that it should be buried with the mummy to keep the deceased person strong, and to protect him from whatever that can harm him. It represents Isis in her role as a universal mother. So it might act as an Egyptian symbol of family.
