The Tinder Swindler Speaks Out About Netflix Show
Simon Leviev - or Shimon Hayut in reality - is making waves in mainstream news thanks to an elaborate scam he’s managed to pull off on multiple women, leaving them with stories they took all the way to Netflix to tell the world. Has Hayut seen this show yet, and what the women are saying about him - and if so, what did he have to say in return? Let’s jump right into the video and answer those questions.
“I want to clear my name, I want to say to the world that this is not true”, Hayut, or Simon Leviev, can be heard saying in an INSIDE EDITION video. While multiple women on the hit Netflix documentary titled “The Tinder Swindler” have accused Hayut of ripping them off, Hayut claims that he’s never behaved in such a fashion and is nothing more than a pampered gentleman looking for his special partner the same way everyone else does these days. One of the women who appeared in the documentary, Cecilie Fjellhoy, said that when she first met Hayut, he was wonderful, and had the confidence of the rich bachelor he pretended to be, all while holding onto a typical funny guy persona. Things stayed this way for the first six weeks of dating, but that’s when her life turned into a living nightmare. Fjellhoy started telling Cecilie that he was in danger, and that he was having to run from people he would only refer to as his enemies. He told her all kinds of things, that he needed to use her name to travel safely, and of course, that he needed money from her.
Fjellhoy is far from Hayut’s only accuser though, from the other women who appeared on the Netflix documentary to the roughly 25 alleged victims the documentary's director knows of. The three women who appeared in Netflix’s documentary alone say that Hayut got away with over five-hundred thousand dollars between the three of them, money they’ve yet to see again. Despite Hayut’s proclamation of innocence, there seems to be much more incriminating evidence out there than he realized. In the Netflix documentary we also heard some stories from Norwegian Newspaper Journalists about how Hayut has gotten away with over ten million dollars, allegedly.
In fact, Simon Leviev, A.K.A Hayut was even arrested for using a fake passport in Greece back in 2019. Because of his mistake, he was shipped back off to Israel and thrown in jail for charges that actually weren’t related to the happenings discussed in the Netflix documentary. He served five months in prison, but was eventually released thanks to the coronavirus pandemic. A lot of prisons needed to release a large group of people because of the health risk that was created in so many of them sharing a space. Now that he’s back in the free world, and everyone assumes he’s back up to his scams, he’s taking a public defensive stance, saying he isn’t the person the mainstream media is making him out to be.
Hayut is currently dating a model named Kate Konlin who’s helping him create this newer, nicer public persona. In an Inside Edition interview with Konlin, she said that she believes every story presented in the Netflix documentary to be a fabricated story, and that Hayut has never tried to borrow money from her in their entire relationship. “My god, it’s like how [can someone] build such a fake story”, she’s reported saying, though people are now, ironically, asking her the exact same question.
Hayut’s schemes go even further back than we’ve discussed so far, dating all the way back to 2015.
Before we take a look at the details, though - please don’t forget to leave a like on the video if you’re enjoying it so far and subscribing to the channel as it helps us tremendously and we appreciate every one of you watching right now! Alright, as we were saying -
Back in 2015, Hayut managed to scam hundreds of thousands of dollars out of multiple Finnish women who reported him to the police, earning him three and a half years in prison. You would think that the fact that he’s served prison and jail time would get him to reconsider his life choices, right? But alas, if that were the case we wouldn’t have the stories we’re presenting you with today. Extra fun fact though - these scandals run even deeper than 2015. Hayut actually stole checks from people he used to babysit for, and was apparently even scamming girls he was dating as a literal teenager! Hayut’s savagery knows no bounds, and not even actual prison time could change that.
