Gibson's initial run of ES-330s were made from 1959 to 1972, and have been played by a wide array of guitarists, from BB King to Emily Remler, Grant Green to Elliott Smith. Though it might have fallen by the wayside in favor of their other ES models, the 330 has a devoted following who love it for its fully hollow thinline construction and single-coil P90 pickups (that T is for thinline, D for double pickup). Later models, including reissues, feature a body that joins the neck at the 19th fret, but on this 1965 model it joins at the 16th, resulting in a bigger upper bout with more body to resonate.
