Our next AFRL Inspire speaker feature is Dr. Andrew Gillman! He’s a research materials engineer on the AFRL Materials and Manufacturing Directorate’s Digital at @theohiostateuniversity

Gillman studies various materials and manufacturing processes involved in the production, repair and upkeep of Air Force planes while focusing on innovative solutions that pair software with robotic systems to optimize these processes.

“The level of trust and autonomy AFRL puts in their people is empowering,” Gillman said, referring to the support he received to form new partnerships by working in university labs with students, postdocs and professors to further research capabilities.
