George Benton was featured in my book Forgotten Legends of the Ring. One of the top Middleweights of the 1960's (and later a hall of fame trainer including coaching Pernell Whitaker) Benton was a master of the Philly Shell defence.
With the Philly Shell and Shoulder Roll often employing the rear under just under the chin as opposed to higher up above the chin, I simply wanted to see how a master of the Philly Shell handled the left hook with its rear hand position.
