If you've enjoyed "Dune," then you'll definitely want to stick around for this. Here's a detailed breakdown of how the Oscar-winning score by Hans Zimmer was crafted. This score is incredibly unconventional, which meant I had to find some creative workarounds. For instance, there's this unique anti-groove pattern that sounds like it's descending stairs. To recreate it, I used a water gallon and chopsticks to mimic the falling rhythm. Additionally, the score features instruments that sound like bagpipes, but upon further investigation, I discovered that it's actually Guthrie Govan imitating a bagpipe for his guitar. While sourcing sounds, the most challenging was the legendary Banshee scream, but fortunately, I stumbled upon @thejadamusic's cover of it online. Layered with various percussion, guitars, bass, strings, and brass, this is the end result. Here's, how I created the 'DUNE' soundtrack in my bedroom.
