The 1973 Plymouth "Barbie" Duster was a southern belle, which was initially built in Florida with blown HEMI V8 engine. Later on the Mopar drag car was sold in Georgia, received a 440 V8 engine with Indy heads and won multiple races at Georgia Motorsports Park.
After drag racing a Valiant for couple of years Chris was looking for a faster full chassis car. He saw the 1973 Plymouth Duster winning the Super Pro Double Up two days in a row back in 2013 and fell in love with it. Chris and Tammy then purchased the Mopar and brought it home to Idaho.
The 1973 Plymouth Duster was cute, wearing Pink and required high maintenance, so they named it "Barbie". They raced it with the 440 for a while, won many races and the Barbie '73 Duster became crowd's favorite at the Spokane County Raceway.
After the 1973 Plymouth "Barbie" Duster spun a rod bearing and broke 2 main caps, Chris had to get a new engine for the drag car. He swapped the 440 with alky burning all aluminum 540 Indy motor dyno'd at 850+ horsepower and got back on track running the 1/4 mile in 8 seconds.
