Deborah Blum, director of the Knight Science Journalism Program, is a Pulitzer-prize winning science journalist and the author of six books, most recently The Poison Squad. She is a former president of the National Association of Science Writers (US) and currently sits on the board of the Council for the Advancement of Science Writing. She is the publisher of Undark magazine, which she founded in 2015, shortly after joining KSJ. Blum is a fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science and a life-time associate of the National Academy of Sciences, for her work in science communication.
