"I think the first human right is the right to work. Because when people work, families eat, children study, children are clothed, children have homes, children are happy - its a proper family. So I think that what the Mothers did was to widen the issue, because our struggle was originally to get our children back, then prison for the murderers, and many years ago now, we were faced with the choice of fighting in the courts or working for the people. We decided to work for the people, because the lawyers are there to fight in the courts. And for me, it's more important to save a child from starvation, than putting three military personnel in jail."

"Before, I was a 'cartonera' (recycled rubbish collector) making a small amount for recycling, and I had to take my children with me when I worked because you can't leave them alone here in the shanty town, especially because they are all under age. So they came with me, suffered from the cold and the heat. But in contrast, as a mother I feel proud to work here because they take care of my children in the nursery, they feed them, they bathe them, and they educate them too - they teach them to play with plasticine, to write, to paint."

"When I finish a house, I say 'Hebe, here it is! Not with words, because words have no weight, but my group, we always say, 'We finished this - this is what your children are fighting for. It's solid. No one can destroy it."
