Hi everyone! It's been a long time since I last posted! 🤗
To make it short, my DSLR camera broke during our Maldives trip, and my DJI pocket is also giving up on me..However, I made a short trip to Shanghai last January and will be posting some more videos regarding our 3 days trip in Shanghai.
✨ What you need to know before going to Shanghai ✨
- they don't use Google
- download VPN
- get a sim card when you arrive at the airport so you can use their wifi easily
- download WeChat for easy transactions in terms of online payments
- always have cash with you as credit cards hardly work there!
- most taxi drivers don't speak nor read English!
- so prepare a voice translator for taxi drivers
- at night, they use something like Uber ( taxi drivers were ignoring us at night)
- visa-free for Europeans visiting for 10 days
✨ About our trip at Yu Garden or Yuyuan Garden✨
I highly recommend to visit Yu Garden for the Chinese feels environment and for some shopping as well. There is a small garden but during our visit, since it was January, they had these beautiful decorations everywhere preparing for the Chinese New Year especially for the Year of the Dragon. Had it not been so cold, we would have explored the area more and could probably stay half day here. Aside from the garden, there are many food stalls, restaurants and souvenir shops. There were also locals approaching us to buy something like luxury bags from them, but I just politely said "No, thank you."
January in my opinion is not the best time to visit Shanghai because of the freezing cold weather, but there we were and there were still lots of local tourists as you can see in my video. I would love to go back to Yu Garden during spring or summer.
