Clownfish and anemones often share a symbiotic relationship in the wild that aquarium hobbyists attempt to recreate in home aquaria. Unfortunately, sometimes it doesn't just "happen" and takes a little coaxing. Rearranging your rockwork or adding new (ideally larger) fish to your aquarium is often enough to evict your clownfish from its current home into the waiting tentacles of a host anemone. Hobbyists have also found success placing a mirror or photograph of a clownfish next to their aquarium to persuade the clown in the tank that this intruder is a threat and that an anemone would be a safer home base.
