“Sweet Salvation" feels to me a bit like a song for the wilderness within each of us. It was written and recorded at a piano looking out over the mountains in California with my friends Daniel Ahearn and Lindsay Marcus. The landscape surrounding us when we recorded it found its way into the spaciousness in the production and the lyrics. I hope you enjoy.

LYRICS
I’ve been out here for days
Just trying to get straight
The road got me crooked
Hope its not too late
Like a spark from the flame
In the dark, lost its way,
Used up by my questions
Washed out in the rain.
I’ve been finally facing down all of my demons
I’ve been chasing something I can’t quite believe in
And I’ve burned up all my answers
Holding back the night
Just when I was sure I lost the fight
I see Salvation
Sweet Salvation
Sweet Salvation when you take my hand
and lead me to the light - Sweet Salvation shining in your hands
Never thought I could change
Was like a bent weather vane
Stuck in the wrong direction
Never knowing who to blame
But in the power of the storm I was broken
I was torn, all the darkness surrounded since the day I was born
I’ve been finally facing down all of my demons
I’ve been chasing something I can’t quite believe in
And I’ve burned up all my answers
Holding back the night
Just when I was sure I lost the fight
I see Salvation
Sweet Salvation
Sweet Salvation when you take my hand
and lead me to the light - Sweet Salvation shining in your hands
In your eyes, I can find myself again
In your eyes, I know right where to begin
It’s alright, all those places I have been
Lead me to Salvation in your eyes.
I see Salvation
Sweet Salvation
Sweet Salvation when you take my hand
and lead me to the light - Sweet Salvation shining in your hands.
