IMPORTANT NOTE: Between 1:30:45 and 1:59:50 screen is still, nothing happens, NO IDEA WHY, probably OBS got an aneurysm. An about 2:17:00 and 2:33:00 the OBS is chugging AGAIN, and there is only sound, with the video being a freaking slideshow. I sometimes do wonder why I even bother to record all those games, it costs so much stress :((
Full game longplay of Halo 2, released in 2004 for the xbox, and later for pc as Halo 2 Vista, just for it to be remastered for x360 in early 2010s, together with Halo Combat Evolved, as Anniversary. Played on the og xbox in 480p and widescreen enabled mode, but strangely, the game's hud is a stretched 4:3, while the game itself renders in a real 16:9 aspect ratio. Very curious, and not in a so positive way, it can make the brain think it's still 4:3 it's very distracting. Questionable decision from Bungie, could have just gone widescreen with small black bars on the sides, like every single other game with 16/9 for the xbox.
Universally thought of as the best Halo game ever. It is a huge improvement over Halo Combat Evolved, and it's sporting an expected change in themes and environments. Human cities. Beautiful views. Halo 2 is absolutely a technical showcase for what the 2001 console could really do. Pretty stable framerate at 30 fps for the most time, and absolutely beautiful cutscenes, rendered in real time, looking way ahead of their time. Real time usage of depth of field and bloom, it's really something. The gameplay itself also had quite a few improvements/changes, depending on who you ask. Addition of the iconic dual wielding, removal of static health amount, changed to self-regenerating shields only. Night and day difference between Halo 1 and this. I much more enjoyed my way through the game, it was fun and very enjoyable. Plus, not hard, and without bullshit one-hit vehicle collision deaths. Checkpoints were also better placed to my taste. It's a legendary game, one of the best FPS games ever created, with great story, gameplay, graphics and sound. Rating is exactly what I have rated it back in the day, circa 2005 when I first played it. 9,5/10. A masterpiece.
