In March 2022, Reading Classics were excited to participate once again in the European Festival of Latin and Greek, an international initiative powered by the University of Lyon that aims to bring together Classicists and friends of the discipline from around the world in public readings of famous ancient literary texts in various languages. This year, we read Sophocles' Oedipus Rex.
Members of staff, undergraduate and postgraduate students, colleagues from the University of Reading, and friends of the Department all gathered in the sunny Edith Morley Quad on 23rd March 2022 to read one of the most influential theatrical plays in many languages, including ancient and modern Greek, Latin, English, French, and Japanese. We hope you enjoy it!
