The topics of traffic and road conditions are common on IELTS Speaking.
You need topic-specific vocabulary to hit 7+ for the Lexical Resource score.
Congestion (n.) - crowded vehicles on roads leading to slowing
Congested (adj.) - describing a place with many cars and heavy traffic
Traffic is extremely congested where I live.
Traffic jam (n.) - many cars driving slowly or stopped on a road
Fender-bender (n.) - minor car accident
Carpool lane / HOV (high-occupancy vehicle) lane - section of road reserved for vehicles carrying multiple people
Energy efficient license plates - plates on cars showing they have reduced emissions
Toll - a charge to use a road or bridge
You’ll also want to describe different types of roads to clarify where traffic is the worst.
