Although a lot of people think this game is terrible, I am one of the people who says that it's actually really good. The introduction of the Strobulb, Dark-Light device, the better handling (for lack of a better word), the Polterpup, the Toad-rescuing missions, the use of money for upgrades, and the amazingly iconic soundtrack make this game pretty awesome in my opinion. Although some levels are repetitive, there's no way to save in the middle of a mission, and no portrait ghosts, I still give this game 4 out of 5 stars.
