Original recording on audio cassette ( 29th of October 1979 ) made by France's then 'Public Enemy Number 1' infamous armed robber, kidnapper & multiple prison escapee, Jacques Mesrine. He produced this ominous, yet strangely romantic 'Last Testament' recording for his partner Sylvia Jeanjacquot, only 3 days before his death / execution in a hail of police bullets in broad daylight, as his BMW entered Porte de Clignancourt, Paris on November 2nd 1979.
Sylvia Jeanjacquot was also in the car with Mesrine at the time of the shooting. She suffered seven bullet wounds, and lost an eye in the indiscriminate police assassination. Their beloved dog, mentioned during this recording ( a little caramel poodle ) was also killed in the gunfire.
More information:
Jacques Mesrine aka "The Man of a Thousand Faces" was an infamous French criminal with an aptitude for disguise that enabled him to remain at large for extended periods of time as a wanted man. Lots more to come on the subject of Mesrine, his life story is truly beyond belief, and worthy of study in far more detail than is covered in the numerous commercial movies made about him. I will also soon be featuring a synopsis of his 1977 auto biography 'L'instinct de Mort' ( Killer Instinct ) - Tess x
