As we wait for this amazing and charming little machine to appear before us, we can invest a little time *brushing up on our BASIC code skills*.
If you've never heard of it nor tried it - trust me when I say, you will love it after about 3 days of practice. You write your instructions out in plain English logical statements which are triggered in order of number.
10 IF 'number' = '10' THEN GOTO 20; ELSE GOTO 40
20 LET 'number = '20'
30 GOTO 10
40 CLS
50 PRINT "Finished!"
60 END
Instructions are in capitals IF THEN GOTO and LET, and you define terms or variables with quotes, like this [LET 'number' = '20']. It's that simple, you look up the guide to see what commands you have and learn to use them.
You can reasonably expect to be writing half decent programs within a month or two, and games of quality within a year. It's the perfect time to get started. The Commodore renaissance has begun :)
