One in four girls and one in six boys are sexually abused by their 18th birthday.
The Play it Safe!™ program is a child sexual and physical abuse curriculum presented annually to over 70,000 children ages 4-18.
The Women’s Center of Tarrant County wanted age-appropriate videos to teach children about sexual abuse in a language they could easily understand.
The program includes age-appropriate videos for preschool through high school. It also consists of training for adults, caregivers and professionals.

Challenges:
Explain difficult subject matter in a clear and age appropriate manner
Create real and relatable characters quickly to establish trust
Produce an engaging video that makes the critical steps more memorable
Produce a large amount of content in a short period of time
Solutions:
Combined limited animation with motion graphics to save cost.
Used a “magic tackle box” concept to explain the flashbacks and steps within the narrative more easily
Used two different art directions to clearly switch between concepts
