"We saw the airplane fly over the square and right after the explosion happened. It was flying very low. There was one explosion and right after it – the second. And in a minute also two bombs hit another school. It was planned and they hit both schools. We don't have schools in this district anymore."

STORYLINE:
Residents of the Ukrainian city of Chernihiv have returned to their homes to inspect the damage and destruction after shelling and airstrikes by Russian forces left the city in ruins.
On Wednesday, resident Nina Vynnyk picked through debris in her destroyed home, visiting it with her grandson Danyk Rak.
"I have nothing to do but to look and to cry, so much work has been wasted," she said.
"We have been building this house for 38 years and it ended this way."
School director Iryna Homenko said two schools in the district were hit by a Russian airstrike.
"We saw the airplane fly over the square and right after the explosion happened," she said.
The mayor of the city, Vladyslav Atroshenko, said that 70% of Chernihiv had been destroyed.
Russian troops withdrew from besieged Chernihiv at the beginning of April.
