A quick visual of why we planted (or tried to) 15-inch bean rows. Advantages included weed control, soil moisture retention, and plant spacing. Con could be mold due to higher moisture content in the soil. However, because of the field having no history of mold and having a good verity of beans against mold our risk is minimal.
