Disclaimer: Boring Video.
Today.. I wanted to shortly talk about what happens when you upload to google photos at the setting Storage Saver.
1. It does not reduce the original picture resolution
2. It does affect the compression. What does that mean? Your original file size will shrink.. maybe by as much as 25%
3. In both pictures/videos: The storage saver versions will have colors that are slightly paler... and slightly less sharp.
4. In videos: the video may not play as well due to the increased compression.
That's it. I was curious..
Is it useable? Probably.. if you only plan on sharing the photos... you probably won't notice much of a difference on social media platforms facebook, instagram, twitter, or tiktok.
If you need to use it for printing large photos or if you're really picky.. then this might be a problem.
