In this video, expert dermatologist in San Diego Dr. Mitchel P. Goldman discusses the benefits and myths of a low fructose diet. As doctor Goldman describes, fructose is sugar naturally found in fruit, though it isn't always good for our bodies. Glucose, however, is good as it helps our brains and is processed as carbohydrates, but fructose is not absorbed as it goes straight to our liver and turns to fat. Surprisingly, fruits including grapes, mangoes, pomegranates, and raisons are among the worst fruits with high fructose levels. In a low fructose diet, a person will want to avoid sucrose, sugar, honey, sorbitol, sweetened milk, and high fructose corn syrup.
