Discover a world of captivating cinema and celebrate the vibrant spirit of Lebanon with us. Co-founded in 2011 by passionate individuals Camille Lattouf, Jessica Zeait (Née Khoury), and Julia Lattouf, the Lebanese Film Festival Australia is a remarkable 100 percent volunteer-led, New South Wales registered non-profit organisation, proudly based in Bankstown.
Since its debut in 2012, our festival has grown into a national arts and cultural event, drawing a diverse audience from all corners of Australia. We are devoted to showcasing Lebanese Cinema and dispelling misconceptions about Lebanon, its people, culture, and traditions. Our iconic film program and events nationwide, primarily in Western Sydney, with a focus on Bankstown as a vibrant and diverse city centre, showcase the finest of Lebanese storytelling.
With esteemed Australian Film icon Bryan Brown AM as our Patron and an enthusiastic Committee of eight members deeply committed to the arts, culture, film, community, and grassroots initiatives, the Lebanese Film Festival Association is driven to create an unforgettable cinematic experience.
We pride ourselves in supporting local and international filmmakers. Our dedication extends to fostering connections and encouraging Lebanese participation in film and creative arts, while promoting environmentally friendly and socially responsible behaviours, ensuring a sustainable and inclusive future for the arts.
But that’s not all! At LFF Australia, we believe in inspiring the next generation of cinephiles. Through our engaging schools program, we take international cinema directly to thousands of school-aged students through school-based partnerships and events, enriching their educational experience.
To date, we have screened over 300 films from various parts of the world, capturing the essence of Lebanon or brought to life by Lebanese filmmakers hailing from Lebanon, Europe, Africa, the Americas, Australia, and beyond. In 2022, we proudly celebrated our 10th Anniversary edition, attracting over 17,000 patrons nationwide.
Each year, the LFF Association embraces the challenge of curating and delivering a world-class edition that sparks inspiration, provokes thought, and captures the cinematic imagination, celebrating the art of Lebanese storytelling at its finest.
Join us on this enchanting cinematic journey and become part of the Lebanese Film Festival Australia family!
