An extreme heatwave blanketing Southern California this holiday weekend has prompted warnings as officials advise residents to seek shelter, stay hydrated and head to the nearest cooling center if needed.
The dry weather and high temps have also created dangerous conditions for wildfires to ignite and quickly grow.
