In this introductory video, we break down the basic functionality of each component that you would find in almost any short path distillation system. We explain the what, the why and the how behind each part.
The kit we will be using in this series is a 2L Short Path Distillation Kit that has been modernized for the 2021 era of distillations, but while still maintaining the affordability of an entry-level budget system. This particular configuration's strengths are in featuring a mostly wide bore vapor pathway and just the right amount of strength behind the vacuum pump to ensure a deep enough vacuum pressure and a strong enough flow rate to perform good distillations.
This series will continue with 3 more episodes as we work our way from start to finish on this Short Path Distiller, processing crude oil to a finished distillate.
