PLEASE READ: (Lyrics- also revised- below)- This is my fave song of show, E/C my fave couple- PLEASE don't rate badly if you don't like LND or E/C. I encourage those who do - buy the CD set! It's so worth it! :) See the show & movie too- please support the artists. (And long live Erine! :-))
Story: first are glimpses of that night & Christine searching for Erik (fitting that it's Journey to the Cemetery music ;-))- a brief flash to future, with C, (thinking of past, upset), and then the night of their reunion. Once E makes his presence known, C remembers & they sing to each other of that night, w/ flashbacks throughout.
*Blue frames/ dark - the "moonless night" (I chose not to go too dark, despite lyrics)
*Blue frames/ brighter - the past before that (but all manips are "that night")
*Normal color & bluish-tinge with red - the present All PONR clips are the present. All PotO, MotN & most final lair are the past. (Regular color is ALWAYS the present - remember that. It's important. ;-))
When it shows her w/ mask at end- I know he wore it when he left, so think of it as symbolic. Much is symbolic (as always)- take the rest as you will. :) ...To give feel other than PONR, I blurred clips of bg. In places it wasn't possible, without blurring E/C. The moving mist-like blur symbolizes the "dream" they feel they're both living. While I've been waiting to make this, vids of this song w/ PotO have come out. Since MewDenise's came first, I want to mention hers here. (Be sure & watch & the others.) :)
Clips- Phantom of the Opera, (also The Tudors- *warning- a bit of obscured nudity)...E/C manips made by me.
"Beneath a Moonless Sky" (revised lyrics in parenthesis) from ALW's Love Never Dies, sung by: Ramin Karimloo & Sierra Boggess
C: I should have known that you'd be here, I should have known it all along. This whole arrangement bears your stamp. You're in each measure of that song. How dare you try and claim me now! How dare you come invade my life!
(Christine: So it was all an empty lie, What a final lie to fool us all- To make your death our story's end, To put your life beyond recall, How dare you come and claim me now!? Invade my life, ensnare my voice!
Erik: If you could know the pain I've known, Then you would know I had no choice...My Christine
Christine: Your Christine?! I was yours one brief night long ago, Long ago-with a man that I no longer know )
E: Oh Christine, my Christine, In that time when the world thought me dead, My Christine, on that night just before you were wed, Ah Christine, you came and found where I hid! Don't you deny that you did That long ago night ...
C: That night ...
E: Once there was a night beneath a moonless sky Too dark to see a thing, too dark to even try
C: I stole to your side, to tell you I must go, (tormented by my choice) I couldn't see your face, but sensed you even so (but trembled at your voice) And I touched you ...
E: And I felt you ...
E & C: And I heard those ravishing refrains
C: The music of your pulse
E: The singing in your veins
C: And I held you!
E: And I touched you!
C: And embraced you!
E: And I felt you...
E & C: And with every breath and every sigh
C: I felt no longer scared
E: I felt no longer shy
E & C: At last, our feelings bared, beneath a moonless sky
C: And blind in the dark, as soul gazed into soul, I looked into your heart and saw you pure and whole.
E: Cloaked under the night, with nothing to suppress a woman and a man, no more, and yet no less ...
AND... I... KISSED YOU!
C: And caressed you!
E & C: And the world around us fell away! We said things in the dark we never dared to say ...
E: AND... I... CAUGHT YOU!
C: AND I KISSED YOU!
E: AND I TOOK YOU!
C: AND CARESSED YOU - (AND I BEGGED YOU!)
E & C: With a need too urgent to deny And nothing mattered then, except for you and I -
Again, and then again ... beneath a moonless sky
E: And when it was done, before the sun could rise Ashamed of what I was, afraid to see your eyes, I stood while you slept and whispered a goodbye And slipped into the dark, beneath a moonless sky ...
C: AND I LOVED YOU! YES, I LOVED YOU!
I'd have followed anywhere you led! I woke to swear my love - and found you GONE instead!
E: AND I LOVED YOU!
C: Oh, I loved you!
E: AND I LEFT YOU!
C: HOW I LOVED YOU!
E: And I had to, both of us knew why!
C: We both knew why!
E & C: And yet I won't regret, from now until I die, a night I can't forget beneath a moonless sky ...
