Dr Shoshana Garfield gives a workshop at a NAGC (National Association for Gifted Children) Conference in October 2012 discussing effective parenting practices. Dr Garfield introduces 2 fundamental principles on which effective parenting is based, as well as gives a lot of practical examples of how to communicate with your child, deal with their emotional outbreks (temper tantrums) and misbehaviour, and support them into becoming independent, self-reliant, happy and respectful adults.
