We asked the Deans, Swizz Beatz and Alicia Keys, to speak about some of the artists included in their collection, so we could all Meet the Giants. First up, Henry Taylor.
Although people are the subjects of many of Taylor’s paintings, he rejects the label of portraitist. Ever empathetic, Taylor’s work reveals the forces at play—both individualistic and societal—through his paintings that may feature subjects from his memory, archival materials, or live sitters.
