It's basically a no commentary playthrough, though I will comment in the live chat when set as a Premiere. Reason why I'm so late to the party is because this update launched in between 2 night shifts I had. Yes, I have a job, I don't exactly enjoy my job either, but I don't want to solely depend on YouTube for income...

I have a lot of things to say about Sonic Frontiers Update 3, The Final Horizon. There's a lot of like, there's a lot to dislike and there's a lot of jank.

While I did enjoy my time with Update 3, as I kept my expectations low, there's still a lot of things that I wished were better, mainly combat and difficulty balancing. I like the multiple playable characters, Amy, Knuckles and Tails, though I wish they'd have shared EXP and level gain, leveling them all up is a tedious task. I enjoyed the new Cyberspace stages a whole lot, though the optional challenges in them, mainly the animal rescuing part can be a bit much. And I also like the tower climbing sections.

Anything related to combat I dislike, especially the Master King Koco Trial on Hard... having a 0.2 second dodge window when your boss fights have the jankiest hitboxes and the most awful telegraphing in any action game is not fun. Cry "skill issue" all you want, anyone can beat it eventually, but you won't feel anymore satisfied then if you played on Easy or Normal, since at least the Perfect Parry window is more reasonable. Hey, if you care about bragging rights then go for it, but BS game design is BS game design to me.

Final boss is... fine. More climactic sure, but not all that interesting gameplay wise. Also it crashed on me... twice. What a way to ruin the moment and get me out of the game.

All in all, it's a good update with tons of new content.. Coming from someone who wasn't that enthusiastic about Frontiers to begin with, I think that's saying something.
