The invocation of the Taittirīya Upanishad
Oṃ śaṃ no mitraḥ śaṃ varuṇaḥ. śaṃ no bhavatvaryamā. śaṃ na indro bṛhaspatiḥ. śaṃ no viṣṇururukramaḥ. namo brahmaṇe. namaste vāyo. tvameva pratyakṣaṃ brahmāsi. tvāmevapratyakṣaṃ brahma vadiṣyāmi. ṛtaṃ vadiṣyāmi. satyaṃ vadiṣyāmi. tanmāmavatu. tadvaktāramavatu. avatu mām. avatu vaktāram. oṃ śāntiḥ śāntiḥ śāntiḥ
"May Mitra –the power of Day and exhalation- be blissful to us. May Varuṇa –the power of Night and inhalation- be blissful to us. May Aryaman –the sun god giving sight- be blissful to us. May Indra –the power of strength- and Bṛihaspati who removes obstacles to knowledge be blissful to us. May Viṣṇu of long strides be blissful to us. Salutations to Spirit. Salutations to you O Vāyu – the embodiment of speech. I shall speak of you alone as the imminent Spirit. I shall speak of you as Righteousness. I shall speak of you as Truth. May That protect me. May That protect the teacher. May That protect me. May That protect the teacher. OM Peace, peace, peace –removing physical, natural and supernatural obstacles."
