2015 marks the 200th anniversary of the publication of Jane Austen’s great novel, Emma. The one-day celebration, sponsored by Eugene Lang College of Liberal Arts ([ Ссылка ]) at The New School ([ Ссылка ]), will consider the fashions of feminism, the fashions of fiction, and fashion itself in fiction, from the vantage point of a major literary bicentennial. Panelists will discuss Emma in 2015 with regard to the marriage plot, feminist style, empire, and creative adaptations from Clueless to zombies and social media.
