If you want to get full permissions in Windows 10 then you have to allow a user to take ownership, auditing, & effective access control of the drive. Most of the time we need full access to the C drive in Windows 10 to perform specific tasks.
Steps to change ownership in Windows 10
1. Right-click on the C drive, go to properties, and "Security" tab.
2. Go to the "Advanced" option.
3. Change the Ownership
4. Select your user account.
5. Grant permissions on the sub containers.
6. Apply and OK.
Repeat the process for the Auditing and Effective access option.
Note: It is advised to create a System Restore point or take a full backup before following any Windows tutorials. In some cases, after gaining the full permissions, a few programs might refuse to open, or Windows might not boot. This is unlikely to happen, but you should take a complete system backup just in case.
