The inner tangle and the outer tangle—
This generation is entangled in a tangle.
Who succeeds in disentangling this tangle?
Answering this question, the Buddha teaches that the crazy snarls of our inner and outer worlds can be dissolved through progressively training our minds in virtue, meditation, and wisdom. The real practice of the Buddhist tradition, then, rests not in belief or worship, but in these three trainings that bring us the deep peace of kindness, clarity, and insight.
