Millions of Americans, including many older adults and children, have low vision or are visually impaired, a condition that cannot be corrected with standard eyeglasses, contact lenses, medications, or surgery. Everyday activities like reading, shopping, cooking, writing, or getting around safely can become difficult and even dangerous for people with low vision.
