Emergency contraceptive pills which are progesterones, levonorgestrel one of the side effects is that they cause abnormal bleeding. So it can be the patient is continuously bleeding or spotting and bleeding or spots and stops or re-bleeds. So these are some of the side effects of the bleeding problems which come with LNG drugs. So the spotting continuing for 10 days after an emergency pill is okay. It has to be seen by the gynaecologist to rule out that there is no pregnancy there. If there is no pregnancy then it will be part of i-pill. We can actually leave it and watch if it is not becoming too much. If it is continuing we can put on hormonal treatment and take care of that. Most important thing is to rule out pregnancy at that point of time.
