لا تتركني في التزاوج بين أفكارنا الصادقة
أَدَعُ سبيلاً إلى العوائق؛ فالحب لا يكون حباً
إذا تغير عندما تجد المتغيرات سبيلها إليه
أو أنحني خضوعاً لما يمحو فيمحى

أواه، لا، إنه علامة أبدية الثبات
تنظر للعواصف ولا تهتز أبداً
إنه النجم لكل السفن الهائمة
النجم الذي لا يعرف الإنسان قدره رغم معرفة ارتفاعه

ليس الحب ألعوبة الزمن، حتى لو كانت شفاهه وخدوده الوردية
واقعة في قبضة منجله المُطْبِقَة
فالحب لا يتغير بساعاته وأسابيعه القصار
لكنه يحفظها في طواياه إلى حافة الدينونة

فلو كان هذا الأمر خاطئاً، وكنت أنا برهان هذا الخطأ
فلا أكون قد كتبت شيئاً أبداً، ولا إنسان أَحَبَّ أبداً
