Co-Founder of 88Keys to Cure, Colin Choi (15), performing Bach/Saint Saens Overture, BWV 29. Colin has been studying piano since the age of 5 with Sueanne Metz. At age 7, he won first place in the International Youth Praise Festival and performed at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. The following year ,Colin was selected as a winner as the Chopin Celebration Competition and was featured in a concert at Carnegie Hall. Colin made his concerto debut at age 9 with the Oistrakh Symphony Orchestra which was broadcasted on WFMT 98.7 classical radio station. Since then, he has performed as a soloist with the Kishwaukee, Harper, and the Chicago Civic Orchestras. Colin was the Illinois State winner in the MTNA Competition of 2014 and won first place in numerous competitions including Walgreens National Concerto Competition, the Arthur Monzka Young Artists Concerto Competition, the Aloha International Piano Festival in Hawaii, the Enkor International, Steinway Piano Competition and the Chopin Youth Competition in 2018. Colin was awarded as the alternate in the Crain-Mailing Chicago Symphony Orchestra Concerto Competition and was also a YoungArts winner.
