When using large auto smelters, storage auto sorters or anything that uses hoppers to move items, more often than not, those items will need to be placed in droppers to add to a water flow or another sorting system.
This auto hopper design is a variation of the best one that I have come across. It is so simple and only works when there are items in the dropper. This prevent all the unnecessary ticking noises and has nearly no lag at all.
This works on both Bedrock and Java.
