ThyssenKrupp twin is two lifts in one shaft!
There is one at the royal london hospital. but finding it is hard. It doesn't look any different to the other lifts, there are no signs about it, and none of the staff know about it.
The twin is lift 4C. It has destination dispatch (where you choose the floor before you get in) so that there isn't a conflict between the 2 lifts.
I think it is wrong that the twin is not advertised because...
1. It will confuse people if the lift refuses to move because the other is in the way.
2. It is an amazing piece of technoigy
3. People might hold the doors open not realising tha they are delaying another lift.
4. they just want to pretend that is a normal lift to not scare people.
here is an example of 2 people talking on mobiles trying to find each other...
person A: where are you
person B: just getting into lift 4C
person A: oh I am just waiting outside that lift on floor 12.
person B: ok I will meet you in a minuet
person A: lift 4C has just arrived but you are not in it.
person B: yes I am in lift 4C
person A: no your not
person B: shut the f*** up
