There is no set rule that says a rifle of any caliber must be zeroed in at XXX yards, it all depends on what you want to accomplish. There's no reason to sight in your .22LR at 100yds if you're only going to be competing in a 75' NRA Small Bore Rifle match, or 50' for the 200yd match. Sight your rifle in at the distance you like to shoot. If you compete in a "Headhunter Match" you need to learn to estimate and calculate quickly!
