Tonight we continue our adventure to ancient Egypt! Our next city-building adventures begin at the modest city of Nekhen where we will learn to grow food and provide our citizens with ample supplies of beer so they will happily build monuments to their wise and powerful Pharaoh. These archaic missions include Nekhen (Hierkonpolis), Men-Nefer (Memphis), Timna and I will choose the peaceful path through the game which means the final mission will be Abedju (Abydos). These missions will teach us the foundations of building a great society as well as the introduction to monument building. We get to learn such amazing technology as gold mining so we can have a steady supply of money for our growing city and to tithe to the greater Egypt! We will advance our housing to new heights and invite ever more people to our growing cities!

Pharaoh + Cleopatra is a game that came out for Windows PC all the way back in the late 90s! I played this game extensively as a teenager and it was such a blast! I was a huge fan of the SimCity series and played every game since the first one up until SimCity 3000 so I was very used to extremely complex city builders by the time I found Pharaoh. I actually never played the Cleopatra expansion as a kid so some of the gameplay is new to me but very little of it until you get much further into the game. The game is a huge blast from the past and will be my ongoing Throwback Thursday series until I complete the game. At some point in the near future we will also get the game Pharaoh: A New Era which is being released on Steam games. I'm so hyped for the new game which is why I'm replaying the old one in anticipation.
