The escalating coronavirus situation in India shows no signs of slowing -- with a deadly second wave overwhelming hospitals, morgues, and crematoriums. Today the country reported yet another record number of new infections, with more than 386-thousand new cases in the past 24 hours.
As hospitals collapse under the weight of record cases and deaths, thousands of desperate people have been sending out SOS tweets in search of hospital beds, oxygen and drugs for sick family members.
Co-editor of Quartz India, Itika Sharma Punit says an Indian matchmaking app is using their algorithm to match donors and patients for plasma as part of larger corporate efforts to respond to the worsening COVID-19 crisis.
