Have a look at this tweet. A lovely piece of news for somebody to share but look at the line that runs down though that's a threaded tweet so that means there's an ability to link more than one tweet together to tell a story. And I'll show you how easy it is to do that here on Twitter. Here we go.
OK so if you've got an existing tweet there is a way to extend it. So if I click on the tweet itself to see it in full if you like. Now if I just go below it'll say add another tweet. So here I can add another tweet that will appear directly underneath it
and I can now click tweet to send that.
And if we now look at the pinned post again I'll just go back to home see how it looks to the user you can now see the pinned tweet but also "show this thread" and if I click show this thread you'll see it's now linked to another video. So if you've got a collection of five videos that are all on training or something like that you could link them all together in one place and of course have that pinned to the top. If you've got a brand new tweet the way to do it is you click tweet, add the tweet you want to send and then rather than just click tweet now you click the plus button to add another tweet to link to it. So you can have a whole series of things from the day but as I say reusing existing resources if you've already got a collection that were
going out at different times and people couldn't see them all in one place for example I've got a social media toolkit in seven parts so I can now create a seven-part tweet that's all linked
together. And of course when someone replies to a tweet that uses the same Twitter what's called threading process as well.
So here I've added in another one about Facebook groups and when I'm done you just simply say "tweet all" And we'll look at the top of the feed let's go across and effectively it looks like two
separate tweets went out around about the same time a second between them but as soon as you say show this thread you'll see
they are both related If any wants to click reply as I'm the originator of the tweet then I'm basically just typing in additional comments etc and adding those to it but yes anyone actually who sees that in the newsfeed and replies it will
reply to the thread and so keep everything together in one simple
manageable place. So lots of practical applications for this it is difficult to get engagement there's no discussion section within Twitter so if you have something challenging that you want to put out there and want people to engage with if you build up a threaded tweet like this it may well be seen by more people in the newsfeed and get the kind of engagement you want to achieve here on Twitter. So that's it from me that's Twitter threading please do check out my social media training group which is over on Facebook free social media training all one word and hopefully we'll see you there in the community where there will be lots more training and updates.
