Take a look at the 44mm Breitling Chronomat Govberg Limited Edition reference AB01146B; a limited edition of just 50 pieces.

This Breitling is imposing and makes a true statement on the wrist. With an immense thickness of 17.3mm, it sits extremely high on the wrist and is truly the quintessential sports chronograph; this is not a watch to wear under a tight sleeve or dress cuff.

In fact, this isn’t a watch you are probably going to dress up at all. This is the bigger of the Chronomat models at 44mm and the lug to lug measurement reaches a huge 54mm. Outside of the specifications, the story behind this watch is truly amazing and shows the loyal heritage that Govberg has with Breitling as a Swiss watch manufacture.

Govberg Jewelers is the oldest authorized dealer of Breitling watches in the country and our relationship has culminated in this timepiece. In 2012, Govberg and Breitling collaborated and created a truly unique Breitling and is one that is not found in any other Breitling authorized dealer in the country.

More amazingly, this watch also houses the in house Breitling B01 chronograph movement which was created by Breitling in 2009. With a 70 hour power reserve, and a 4Hz heart beat, this movement is a power house and is now Breitling’s flagship movement.

This movement also acts as the base for other in house movements such as the B04 and B05, so you can see this movement housed in other families outside the Chronomat. We can see this movement through the sapphire case back, which is one distinguishing characteristic of the Govberg LE.

Another unique feature of this piece is the brushed and polished case, which is usually not found in the Chronomat series. This tends to make the watch feel more casual and also more wearable. There are hints of polishing throughout; the rider tabs on the bezel, the pushers, crown, and sides of the case are all polished.

You can see the limited edition number engraved on the side of the case as well. The dial is a basic black, but features finite details when you look closer. What instantly catches your eye is the rectangle that highlights the hands and center of the dial. Looking at the subdials, we see ones that are recessed slightly and outlined in steel.
