I grew up playing the "Heroes of Might and Magic" fantasy turn-based strategy series on PC with my friends, starting with the third installment in 1999. We spent countless hours of fun and adventure playing "hotseat" on weekends. I pretty much skipped the fourth installment, but I joined an international tournament in "Heroes V", released in 2006, and played actively in high school. All the following games have been a disappointment though, and I have been waiting for a worthy sequel for over a decade now (along with all the fans of the series, I daresay).
It's ironic though that I really enjoyed the music in those installments that I did not like to play, such as "Heroes IV" and "Heroes VI". This is a dark but hopeful piece from the latter, composed by the long-time composers of the music for the series, Paul Romero and Rob King.
My thanks go out to my dad, who was patiently keeping the fire alive (in the middle of the summer), while I was getting shots from all the different angles.
