Welcome to this comforting soft spoken yoga nidra guided meditation with rain sounds for relaxation and sleep. Fall asleep fast with this yoga nidra guided sleep meditation that is guided by a soothing female voice as she takes you on a restful restorative journey to deep sleep! This calming guided relaxation for sleep uses a soft spoken voice & some whispers, along with rain sounds and gentle sleep music in the background is to help intensify and enhance your overall relaxation experience. The guided meditation ends with a repeated loop of relaxation phrases to help calm your nervous system as you blissfully drift off to sleep. The music continues for a few extra minutes but perhaps you won't notice anyway as I hope you'll be already fast asleep by the time the meditation ends. PLEASE NOTE:
The kind of Yoga Nidra I share in this video is created to fully embrace rather than avoid sleep! Not all yoga teachers, however, take this approach. Many yoga instructors encourage their yoga nidra students to not fall asleep and to stay fully aware through the whole meditation. Jennifer Piercy (Yogic Sleep Expert, Educator & Mentor) speaks about how Yoga Nidra is about awareness and NOT clinging to waking. She states that sleep isn’t about losing consciousness, instead, sleep is PART of consciousness. So if you prefer to stay awake, aware and alert then you don't have to fall asleep while listening :) You can make the intention to be fully aware through the meditation or set an alarm so that when the meditation is over you can return back to your activities. :) But if you want to use this as a sleep aid, then go ahead and give yourself full permission to embrace the restful energy of sleep.
