How a Goldenrain Tree Goes to Seed & Cutting Back Salvia 7/4/2024
Good day to you all! Hi guys!
Today's video begins with my collection of Golden Rain Tree seed collection from over the course of a week. Most mornings my daughter and I go out for early morning walks before the temps skyrocket. On our walks, we pass this gorgeous Golden Rain Tree. I brought three branches homes over a week's span.
I show you three stages from freshly picked, four days old, to one week old. It seems a full seed pod contains five individual tree seeds. They begin as big green balls and "dehydrate" to dark brown black speck, which is then ready for planting. I am no expert seed planter, but I may try one or two seeds. These are for my girlfriend who has property and can toss them out in her tree line, fingers crossed.
The second segment is garden maintenance, more specifically, cutting back the salvias. It was about 6 six weeks ago I had done the first cut back, but this week all salvia had "flattened out" (probably naturally or from the heavy rain we had last week here in Nashville, Tennessee). I chopped them down to the ground and totally expect them to thrive again. Of course I'll keep you updated!
