Serdar Ortaç was born in Istanbul in 16th February 1970. He attended the American Language & Literature department of Bilkent University.
Serdar was a famous radio DJ and he was working at a radio station when he composed his hit song Karabiberim. He shared a simple version of Karabiberim with his listeners during an ordinary radio broadcast.
His first album was the best selling album of the year with sales of 2 million copies. His album, Çakra was the best selling album of 2004 as well.
He composes most of the songs in his albums. Other singers such as Sibel Can, Hülya Avşar, Muazzez Abacı, Seren Serengil, Alisan, Ebru Gündeş and Gülben Ergen have used songs composed by him in their albums, and several of his songs have been released in other languages such as Arabic, Greek, Russian and Armenian.
He was the host of a TV Program for 3 years named "Altogether With Serdar Ortac" which had been awarded the best Show program of 2003 by Turkish Radio & TV Oscars.
He also released a book on January 2005 named "Bu Sarkilar Kimin İçin?" (Who are these songs for?) which contains his poems, memories and some lyrics.
Serdar Ortaç has enjoyed a large fan base and high album sales for more than 10 years. Continued success.

Bengü (Real name: Bengü Erden, born 23 April 1979, İzmir) is a Turkish Pop music singer.
In 1996 she became second at the casting show POP SHOW 96 and got to know juror Kenan Doğulu and worked with him to start her career. At the same time she studied at the Marmara University in Istanbul.
She also moderated a TV show called: Elifnağme.
