In this Tutorial I will teach you how to get started dynamic topology sculpting in blender.
This quick tutorial is intended for impatient beginners/intermediates. I personally hate unnecessarily long tutorials so I made this as concise as I could, hopefully with out being too confusing.
Just pause the video whenever you need to and go back and fourth to blender to practice each step.

Here is the script I wrote before making the tutorial.

This is assuming that you know how to do basic things in blender like: add shapes, edit meshes, add modifiers and navigate the view port.

Open a new file in blender.
Select the cube.
Change to sculpt mode.
Press "t" to show the tool bar.
Enable dynamic topology.
Change from Relative detail to Constant detail.
Change the detail size to 7.00% to begin with.
Under symmetry lock enable mirroring on the x axis.

Now you can sculpt by clicking and dragging.
You can change your brush size by pressing the "f" key.
You can change the brush strength by pressing "shift f".
Whilst pressing "f" or "shift f" you can enter specific values by typing them in and pressing enter.
You can invert a brush by holding down "ctrl".

You can change brush by clicking on the brush icon.
experiment with them all. They are pretty self explanatory.


You don't have to start with the cube.
You can start with any mesh and edit in edit mode as you normally would before chaining int to sculpt mode.

You can also go back in to edit mode after you have sculpted it if you like.

As your model gets more refined you can decrease the detail size to sculpt finer details.

That should be enough to get you started.
